Who is Shea McGee

Shea McGee is co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Studio McGee, the Salt Lake City design house she launched with Syd in 2014. She studied communications at Brigham Young University and worked in public relations before sharing her first home projects on a blog and enrolling in design school.

Netflix's Dream Home Makeover put her client renovations on screen, with Shea making the final design call for each project. She and Syd's New York Times bestseller Make Life Beautiful tells the story of building Studio McGee; The Art of Home showcases the studio's projects, and Around the Table is the McGee family's cookbook and entertaining guide.

McGee & Co. fall and winter home edit

McGee & Co. is Studio McGee's home furnishings and decor brand, inspired by Shea's work with clients. For Fall 2026, Shea described a Utah shoot built around 'something old, something new,' a mix of patina and fresh pieces that is a sharp lens for shopping the season.

This edit turns that idea into four product groups: checked table linens and dinnerware, holiday greenery, velvet bedding, and plaid throws and pillows. I would start with one useful base in each room, then let a single patterned or tactile layer do the seasonal work.

Where I would start with Shea McGee's style

Start with one textural piece that changes how a room feels. I would set the table with the Grand Check Linen Tablecloth, then add the Novara European Cashmere Throw to the living room. Shea’s best rooms make these everyday layers feel considered without asking you to replace everything.
