Lululemon usually runs true to size, but relaxed cuts and bra styles need their own chart check. This guide compares its women's size charts with current leggings, pants, and bra examples.

Lululemon Sizing: Does Lululemon Run Small, Big or True to Size?
Start with the category
Lululemon usually runs true to size, but the silhouette matters as much as the label. The lululemon size chart separates bottoms, leggings, tops, bras and underwear, plus bodysuits and dresses, so a number does not mean the same thing in every category. For bottoms, the numeric run goes from 0 to 20, mapped across alpha labels from XXXS to 2X, and the chart asks you to compare waist and hip measurements. Contour Fit leggings are intentionally narrower at the waist and roomier at the hips than standard leggings, a useful exception if you size by one measurement. The bra chart has a different logic: the brand suggests Medium or size 10 for a 34 band, or Small or size 8 for a tighter feel. On product pages, Align High-Rise, Wunder Train, Fast and Free, and Daydrift are marked true to size, while Scuba Evolve is called a bit large. Length is another variable: Groove Short offers 30, 33, and 35 inches; Daydrift Short offers 29.5, 31.5, and 35. Measure waist and hip, then let the garment’s fit and inseam note break the tie.
Leggings that fit differently
These four are not interchangeable just because the fabric is close-fitting. Align No Line High-Rise Pant 25 removes the front-rise seam and is marked true to size; the regular Align High-Rise Pant 25 shares a 25-inch length and a hidden waistband pocket. Wunder Train High-Rise Tight 25 is also marked true to size, with quick-drying Everlux and a drawcord at the waist. Fast and Free 6-Pocket High-Rise Tight 25 has six storage pockets and fit reviews that say true to size. That gives me three useful questions: do you want the seam-free front of Align No Line, the pockets of Fast and Free, or the training-oriented fabric and drawcord of Wunder Train? If you sit between numbers, compare waist and hip measurements first, then decide how much compression you like. Do not size down merely because a legging looks sleek in a product photo; reviews and the size chart are better evidence.
Pants and inseams are separate
Relaxed shapes can need a different read. Dance Studio Mid-Rise Pant Regular is marked true to size, with an easy, non-clingy after-practice feel. Groove Nulu High-Rise Flared Pant Short is true to size too, but it comes in 30, 33, and 35-inch lengths, so pick length separately from waist fit. Scuba Evolve Oversized Jogger is the clear exception: lululemon calls it a bit large, and its soft oversized cut can feel roomier than a fitted tight. Daydrift High-Rise Wide-Leg Trouser Short is marked true to size, with a 29.5-inch short length and other length choices on the page. I would measure inseam in the shoes you plan to wear, then compare the waist and hip chart; a trouser that sits correctly can still puddle if you choose the wrong length. If between sizes in the Scuba jogger, test the closer option first rather than assuming every pant follows the same rule.
Bras need their own numbers
Bras are the clearest reason not to treat the number on a lululemon legging as a bra size. Flow Y Bra Nulu Light Support A-C Cups is designed for A-C cups and lists numeric sizes 2 through 14; its fit note says true to size. Wundermost Ultra-Soft Nulu Triangle Bralette A-C Cups uses XXS through XL sizing, and its review fit note says a bit large. Energy Bra High Support B-G Cups is sized by band and cup, with the product page marking fit true to size. Like a Cloud Bra Light Support B/C Cup is also marked true to size and comes in numeric sizes 2 to 12. Start with your usual band and cup, then read the specific product’s support level; a light-support bralette and a high-support running bra solve different problems. The brand’s 34-band chart point, Medium or 10, is a starting reference, not a substitute for checking how firmly you want the band to sit.
