Claw Clips at Every Price, From $14 to $198

Claw Clips at Every Price, From $14 to $198

Claw clips from five brands sorted by price, from an $11 clip to a $198 velvet bow jaw clip, and what changes along the way.

What the price tells you

A claw clip can cost $14 or $198, and the interesting part is what changes between them. I sorted clips from Teleties, Tegen, Emi Jay, Lele Sadoughi and Jennifer Behr by price, so you can see where the money goes: materials, hand finishing, or pure design. Prices are what the brands listed on November 3, 2026, and they move.

Comparison chart of claw clips from Tegen, Teleties, Emi Jay, Lele Sadoughi and Jennifer Behr plotted by price from lower to higher

Under $20

The Tegen Small D Shape at $14 is made in France with a strong steel spring and an acetate blend, meant for fine to medium hair in half-up styles. Tegen's Mini Claw Clip for fine hair is $11. The Teleties Large Claw Clip at $14.99 is 4.5 inches with bendable teeth and a body the brand calls nearly unbreakable, in teal or mulberry. This is the tier where you stop worrying about losing one, and the Teleties colors are bold enough that you will not want to.

$20 and Up

The Emi Jay Half Moon at $32 is matte and sized for a full head of hair, and the Tegen Botanical clip at $31 is individually hand painted, so no two have the same pattern. Lele Sadoughi's Rose Tortoise Lily at $28 is a 2 by 2 inch hand-swirled acetate flower, and the Mother of Pearl Lily is the same price, and her Burgundy Peony at $45 and Navy Magnolia at $75 add fabric flowers, with faux pearl centers on the magnolia. At $76, the Tegen Medium with Extra Grip is hand-cut cellulose acetate, shaped, polished and fitted with a steel clasp, and it is the one I would call a long-term hair investment. The Jennifer Behr Matilda Jaw Clip at $198 turns the brand's velvet bow into a jaw clip, with graduating layers of velvet ribbon on an acrylic resin base. It is not the most practical thing here and it is not trying to be. It is the clip you buy when the accessory is the outfit.

Where the money goes

If you wear a claw clip every day, buy the $76 one once and the $14 ones for the gym bag. If you wear one to dinner, the Matilda is the only splurge in this edit.
