Bag Charms That Look Like Food, From Broccoli to Croissants

Food bag charms from Poppy Lissiman, Susan Alexandra and Stoney Clover Lane, from a $30 corn cob to a $118 stick of butter, grouped by brand and sorted from cool to warm tones.

Lunch, but on your bag

Food is the funniest thing you can clip to a handbag, and it works because it is so specific. I pulled the edible charms from Poppy Lissiman, Susan Alexandra and Stoney Clover Lane and sorted them by color, with the cool greens and purples on the left and the warm reds and yellows on the right. Each brand gets its own row, so you can also see how three people draw a tomato.

Comparison chart of food bag charms by brand from cool to warm tones: broccoli, lemon, croissant, donut and more

Poppy Lissiman: the garden

Poppy Lissiman keeps it to vegetables and fruit at $30 each, with broccoli and a corn cob on the cool and neutral side and a tomato and a watermelon on the warm side. They are the lightest charms here, so they work on a small bag or a tote that already has a lot going on. If you only want one, the tomato goes with almost everything because red is a neutral on a black bag.

Susan Alexandra: the snack bar

Susan Alexandra is $48 across the board and leans toward snacks, a grape slushie, a lemon, a happy sandwich, a radish and a fragola. The details are what you pay for, from the tiny seeds to the little faces. I would pick the lemon for a white bag and the sandwich for a brown one.

Stoney Clover Lane: the full meal

Stoney Clover Lane goes bigger, with butter and fries and a cookie at $118, a croissant at $78 and a donut at $58. The butter is the one I keep coming back to because it is such a quiet joke. If $118 is too much for a snack, the donut is the way in.

How I would wear them

One food charm per bag is plenty, and it should clash with the bag a little. A croissant on a leather tote looks like you meant it.
